A restored 1920s summer villa with lawn running down to a private jetty. Swim before breakfast, take the rowboat out at dusk. Three bedrooms, a wide veranda, and a long table that has seen a lot of birthdays. Berlin is twenty-five minutes by S-Bahn from the station at the end of the road.

Six of us for a long weekend and nobody wanted to leave. Swimming off the jetty before breakfast every day.

The house has been restored properly, not just decorated. Frieda knows everything about the area and told us where to row to for the best sunset.
